January 20We would like to inform our customers regarding the sightseeing accident that occurred in Kumamoto.
Many people have probably heard the news about the sightseeing helicopter crash on Mount Aso in Kumamoto on January 20th.
The cause of the crash is yet to be determined, but the aircraft we use for sightseeing flights is the same model as the one that crashed.
The Robinson R44 is the world's best-selling small aircraft, and while it has low operating costs and flight fees, its structure limits its flight capabilities in weather conditions such as strong winds. Compared to large and medium-sized aircraft, it has less engine power, and severe judgment is required depending on the flight environment, such as weather.
If the environment for maintaining flight safety, including ground acceptance, is not in place, multiple dangerous factors will come together and lead to accidents and problems; the same chain of events will occur with any aircraft, regardless of size.
We always strive for safe operation by strictly monitoring the flight environment, weather conditions, and aircraft maintenance inspections, but if you have any concerns after the recent accident, we will accept cancellations. Information about the helicopter's structure and safe operation is available on our website, but if you have any concerns or questions, we will answer to the best of our ability.
Unlike passenger planes, whose purpose is to travel to other locations, the purpose of scenic flights is to entertain passengers while they enjoy the scenery.
We always prioritize safe flight operations, but if you have even the slightest bit of anxiety, it's natural to wonder whether you'll be able to enjoy the flight itself.
We cannot guarantee that accidents will never occur, but we will continue to strive to prevent accidents 100%.
Sincerely,
Message from staff and supervisor
