Let us honestly tell you all about the positives and negatives of flights.
This is a lengthy explanation, but please read through the features of the Yokohama Sky Cruise so that you will be glad you chose it.
~Making every flight count and safe... this has been our goal ever since we first started flying~
The customers who come on our flights are a variety of people, including couples, families, and groups. What all our customers have in common is that they want to fly because they want to see their partner happy, which makes them happy too.
After landing, passengers disembark with big smiles on their faces, completely different from the expressions they had before boarding.
I can say this with certainty.
I hope that each and every flight will be an opportunity for our customers to continue to find happiness and become a lifelong memory, and I will guide each and every flight with care and safety. This has not changed since I started flying here.
As we deal with helicopters as a form of transportation, we always prioritize safety, which allows us to provide flights that meet our customers' expectations.
"Safety and Compliance" is essential for us to continue providing our important flights in the future, so we hope you will become familiar with the flights we offer.

Yokohama Sky Cruise's Strengths (and Weaknesses)
ADVANTAGE Advantages/Merits

It is adjacent to the north side of Rinko Park.
The only flight from a heliport in the center of a major city in the country
It is accessible on foot from the station. Scenic flights can also be conducted at night. This is the only heliport located in the center of a major city.
As soon as we take off, the cityscape comes into view. This is an extremely rare location for a helicopter flight in Japan.
It is also close to Yokohama's tourist spots, and the easily accessible heliport makes it possible to plan a helicopter flight after dining and strolling.

Because we can take off from the city center, you can enjoy spectacular views throughout even a short flight.
Our pilots have passed tests stipulated by government regulations (a minimum of 500 hours of flight experience is required to become a captain for sightseeing flights), and are highly skilled and experienced pilots. In addition to flight operations that ensure safety at all times, they also fly safely while checking changing weather and aircraft conditions. Our highly skilled pilots have been praised by aerial photographers, who say, "You're so good!"
In order to carry an unspecified number of passengers, we comply with flight and maintenance regulations set by the government and conduct daily inspections and maintenance to ensure safe flights.

Charter Flights and Personnel Transportation on Flight Days are Reasonably Priced
We are limited to charter flights within Yokohama city and west of Kanagawa prefecture, but if the flight date is on a weekend, we can reduce the cost of shipping equipment, making it possible to have a charter flight on a budget.
Private charters are also available, including trips around Mt. Fuji and flights over your home.

We received inquiries about whether it was possible to travel around Mt. Fuji or to Hakone by helicopter, so we made it possible to travel by helicopter to scenic spots in Hakone and Mt. Fuji.
The twin-engine helicopter is capable of flying over the ocean, making it possible to transport passengers to the Izu Islands and other locations.

Many customers say that they saw a helicopter flying over while at the park, and the passangers having fun made them want to try a ride.
We also often receive enquiries from guests who have seen a helicopter flying from their hotel rooms at nearby hotels.
If you are on a nice day and find yourself wondering, "I wonder if I can ride if I go today?" please contact us.

DISADVANTAGE Disadvantages/Demerits
Flight days are generally limited to Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.
Due to government restrictions, Minato Mirai Heliport is limited to weekend flights. Weekday flights are possible, but we do not recommend them as the flight time will be longer and the cost will be higher than on weekends.
We are currently in discussions to enable regular flights to be conducted on weekdays at Minato Mirai Heliport, with special weekday flights being conducted during the summer and Christmas seasons.

The waiting room is a prefabricated building.
Due to government restrictions, we are operating out of a prefabricated building. We are located inside a pier, making it difficult for first-time visitors to find us. Regulations prohibit us from putting up conspicuous signs, so at first glance it looks like an office at a construction site.

Recently, more and more customers are able to get to our site without getting lost thanks to their smartphone navigation systems, but the heliport is located in a place that can be difficult to find for those unfamiliar with the area.
There is a waiting area, but please understand that it is cramped as it is a prefabricated building.
The restrooms are available in the adjacent park and are not as luxurious as an airport lounge.

Weather conditions that make flights impossible include ① low clouds, ② poor visibility, and ③ strong winds that exceed operational limits.
No fatal malfunctions will occur during flight, but if the alarm system for malfunctions prior to or after flights reports any kind of malfunction, the aircraft may not be able to continue flying until the malfunction is resolved.

- To ensure a safe flight -
A helicopter is a vehicle called an "aircraft."
Flights that carry an unspecified number of passengers require an air transport business license (green license plate) and must meet strict regulations and standards set by the government. These standards must be on par with those for passenger aircraft at airports, and even for a scenic flight of just a few minutes, safety-related work and costs are thoroughly considered.
Let me give you one example...
- Sightseeing flights must be conducted by helicopters that have an air transport business license and meet the national regulations for operation and maintenance, as well as the insurance standards. (Unlicensed taxi flights are prohibited: Unlicensed taxi flights are punishable as a violation of the Aviation Law.)
- The captain of a scenic flight must have more than 500 hours of flight experience and be a pilot who has passed the prescribed examination. (A certain level of experience and the skills to pass the examination as stipulated by the country are required.)
- Heliports for sightseeing flights must have emergency landing areas where the helicopter can safely evacuate in case of an emergency. (Takeoff and landing are the most difficult times and place a strain on the helicopter.)
etc….
Sightseeing flights are only allowed to carry passengers after meeting the most stringent regulations of all helicopter flights.
Since we fly in the sky, "safety and comfort" are the points for which we always strive, and we do our best to make sure our important customers are pleased with their important flights.
We ask for your understanding of the purpose of our flight.
