Customer story: The day I confessed I wanted to be a family

I have a partner whom I cherish very much. She has a 6-year-old child, and we are not yet married.I was extremely nervous when I first met the child, but now they have really grown on me. I plan to tell my partner's child that I will become their father when my child starts elementary school. I have already told my partner the other day and she is aware.

We had decided that the place to declare our intention to become a family should be in a place where we could see everything, and we thought that it would be best to do so in a helicopter, where we could have our own space.
Why? Because I wasn't confident that I would be able to convey my feelings clearly to my child, and I really wanted to create a situation that would definitely make my child happy so that I could convey my feelings to them.

It was cloudy that day, but the staff told me that the night view was beautiful even on a cloudy day, so I felt a little relieved. My partner sat in the front seat, and my child and I sat in the back seat, and the helicopter took off. The inside of the plane was not as noisy as I expected. My child was happy as expected, so I wanted to keep watching for a while.
As the plane began to descend for landing, I told my child in a slightly louder voice, "I'm going to be your dad. Is that okay?" My child looked puzzled and replied, "But you're already my dad, right?"
We were still completely taken aback when the helicopter landed and we got off, and my partner in the front seat was smiling with tears in her eyes.
I think I know her struggles better than anyone else, and that's why I want to cherish the feelings I have today.

I was able to vow from the view from the highest point that I will never forget this important day and that I will become a happy family. From now on, no matter how old we all get, I want to remember this day with my family. I want to work hard so that my children will always call me "a cool dad."

Customer story: What my mother brought

I live with my daughter, who has just started working, and my 78-year-old mother. My daughter said that she wanted to buy my mother and me a present with her first paycheck. It was a gift that neither my mother nor I would have ever imagined: a helicopter tour of the Yokohama night view.

We grew up in Yokohama, and we certainly had never seen this city from the sky. My father, who passed away last year, was a sailor and worked as a port pilot in his later years. My daughter arranged for my mother, who has not been going out much recently, to see the city of Yokohama from the sky, hoping to cheer her up. My mother's legs are getting a little weaker, but she seems to be enjoying being out for the first time in a long time. I don't think my mother would have had the opportunity to go out and enjoy herself like this without the present from my daughter.

My mother had secretly brought along a photo of my father wrapped in a furoshiki. Before boarding the helicopter, there was a security check, just like on an airplane, so my mother was worried. Instead, my daughter asked the staff, "Can I bring photos with me?" and they seemed to understand what I meant, and they replied, "Please show him the scenery to your heart's content," which put my mother at ease.
During the flight, I saw my mother, who was sitting in the front seat, talking to a photo of my father. This is the town where we live, the port where my father worked.... I was moved by the idea that people were living their own lives there, gazing at the countless shining lights of the port town from the sky. My daughter was constantly taking videos of us on the plane and the night view on her smartphone.

As we were leaving after a quick but enjoyable flight, I asked my mother, "What were you talking about with Dad?" She said that she told him, "Dad, thank you for working so hard."
"Thank you for working..." I was filled with gratitude to my daughter, who was faithfully carrying on my father's wishes.
On the train ride home, the mother looked over and over at the photos my daughter had taken on her smartphone, smiling. I will never forget the day my heart was warmed by seeing my daughter's growth and feeling grateful for my family, and I truly felt that I wanted to continue supporting my daughter in the future.

Customer story: The warmth of holding hands remains the same...celebrating my husband's retirement

My husband, who has supported our family as the breadwinner, recently retired, and I was thinking of giving him a present to express my gratitude for all his hard work. Since this will be a major milestone in his life, I secretly booked a helicopter night flight as a special celebration gift that I knew that he would surely love. On that day, the two of us went out together for the first time in a while, and after taking a stroll around the town of Minato Mirai in Yokohama, I planned to show him the night view.
Our children are independent and live far away, so we live alone now. I don't have many opportunities to go out with my husband because I work, so we decided to make this 1 special day by going out together.

It had been a while since I last visited Minato Mirai. Using the navigation system on my smartphone, we arrived at the heliport at the edge of the park about 5 minutes earlier than the meeting time. When my husband saw a real helicopter, he didn't seem to understand it at first. After a while, his eyes lit up like a child and he asked, "Can I really ride in it?" The helicopter took off and landed repeatedly, and while we were fascinated, our last names were called. We were guided to our seats, fastened our seat belts, and the door closed, and the aircraft gently rose into the air and continued to rise.
We were excited by the feeling that was clearly different from that of an airplane, and although we thought the 10-minute flight was a little short, the magnificent view of the harbor and the jewel-box-like night view that greeted us as soon as we took off felt as if they were celebrating us.
Seeing my husband, who was sitting right next to me, excited like a child, I felt heartfelt gratitude towards him for being the supporting pillar our family, and I couldn't help but strongly hope that we would continue to live a life filled with happiness, even if it was ordinary.
It was a very satisfying gift and the surprise was a great success!

After the flight, on the way from the heliport to our next reserved dinner, my husband said "thank you" so many times that I felt embarrassed. Unlike his usual words that sounded like air, this "thank you" sounded like a voice that reminded me of the first time we met and went on a date, and I was convinced that our feelings and thoughts began back then and will continue to do so in the future.

The view of the city we saw from the sky today has changed a lot since the first time we walked there after meeting my husband, but our feelings haven't changed at all since then. My husband suddenly held out his hand to me, and although I was surprised, I held it tightly, and I felt like I was back in my younger days.
I will never forget the look on my husband's face, beaming with happiness as I whispered to him, "here's to many more years," expressing my gratitude to him as he retired.
